Dietrich Engineering Limited was retained by the Municipality of South Huron to design and construct a stormwater management (SWM) facility as a means of flood control in the southeast part of Exeter with the intent of helping to alleviate the localized flooding caused by the insufficiency of existing drainage systems to adequately convey runoff from approximately 82 hectares of upstream agricultural land to a sufficient outlet.  The SWM (dry) pond provides protection from a 50 year storm and can accommodate approximately 34 million litres of runoff within the 5 acre area that it’s been constructed.
